Research

Dr Alvi’s research interests lie in the design and analysis of wireless communication solutions for the Internet of Things. Currently, he is working on Federated Learning for wireless networks. His publications are available on his website.

Biography

Dr Alvi is a Research Fellow at the College of Engineering and Computer Science, under the convenership of Dr. Nan Yang. He completed his PhD in Electrical Engineering at ANU, and was supervised by Dr Xiangyun Zhou and Dr Salman Durrani. Dr Alvi completed his Masters in Electrical Engineering (Telecom & Computer Networks) at the National University of Sciences and Technology in Pakistan, and his BSc (Electronic Engineering) at the International Islamic University in Pakistan. He has held several research positions, including as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Monash University in Melbourne and at the University of Canberra.

Dr Alvi has also supervised postgraduate and undergraduate theses, and has been a lecturer and a tutor for various postgraduate and undergraduate courses.
