Biography
Dr. Cheng Cheng is a Senior Research Officer at the Australian National University’s College of Engineering, Computing and Cybernetics, School of Engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and a PhD, both awarded by the ANU. His work focuses on renewable energy integration and decarbonization pathways, specializing in energy system modeling, least-cost optimization, energy demand forecasting, and GIS analysis. Cheng is particularly interested in the role of off-river pumped hydro energy storage in balancing renewable generation. He is actively involved in various renewable energy projects and outreach activities, supported by government and industry grants as well as academic fellowships.
