Area of expertise:
Biography
Dr Bartholazzi completed his PhD at ANU in 2025 working with hole-selective passivating contacts. Prior to his PhD, Gabriel completed his Masters in Materials Science at the Military Institute of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is currently a Research Associate working towards the development of novel materials and processes for future generation of photovoltaics.
Research
Dr Bartholazzi's research aims at employing new and innovative materials to further boost efficiency and decrease price of silicon-based solar cell technologies. He focuses on atomic-scale processing to tune and engineer materials that can enhance the interface properties with silicon. Currently, his main research focus is on developing sulphide and oxide materials using atomic layer deposition processes.
Activities & Awards
Dr. Bartholazzi received best oral presentation award at the international conference PVSEC-35 (Numazu, Japan 2024). His work has been selected as being amongst the top 20 contributions to the international conference on Silicon Photovoltaics (Ankara, Turkyie 2026).
