Biography

Anjalie Edirisooriya is currently a PhD student in the College of Engineering and Computer Science at the Australian National University under the supervision of Dr Fiona Beck. She is also an Associate PhD student under the International Research Training Group (IRTG) 2675 “Meta-Active”; collaborative initiative between the Friedrich Schiller University (FSU) in Jena, Germany, and the Australian National University (ANU). Anjalie has a BSc. (Hons) degree in physics from The University of Peradeniya and was awarded the University award for academic excellence.

Research

My research interests focus on understanding and harnessing hot carrier dynamics to drive chemical reactions, with a particular emphasis on CO₂ reduction. I develop both theoretical and experimental frameworks to leverage hot electrons and holes generated through plasmonic excitations for enhanced catalytic efficiency and selectivity.
