Mr Florian Poppa

My current research focuses on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for the large scale atmospheric monitoring of carbon capture and and storage (CCS) sites. My contributions to this field are

  • an autopilot system for helicopter-based UAVs:
    Focus on sensor flexibility, low costs, and reliability.

  • an acoustic localization approach:
    Gain 3D position from a 2D sensor array, can also be used for speaker localization.

  • an user interface framework:
    Management of numerous and diverse sensors and robot systems, integrated solution for the data analysis of the gained measurements.
