Dr Stokes-Griffin’s research focuses on hybrid structures, and the automated placement of thermoplastic composite materials onto metallic components. He also models and optimises the automated placement of thermoplastic composite materials. For more information, please see Dr Stokes-Griffin’s publications.


Dr Stokes-Griffin has held positions as a research fellow at ANU since 2014. Prior to this, he completed his PhD in Manufacturing Engineering, with a thesis entitled “A Combined Optical-Thermal Model for Laser-Assisted Fibre Placement of Thermoplastic Composite Materials”. Dr Stokes-Griffin also completed a BEng (Materials & Manufacturing Engineering) at ANU. He worked as a Design Engineer at Dyesol Australia Ltd from 2009-2013.
